IASTM Therapy

IASTM is short for instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation. This type of treatment uses tools to aid in the manipulation and mobilization of scar tissue and fascia.

What should you expect during your IASTM session?

We use the Edge Mobility tool at One Body. It’s a metal instrument specially designed for this modality. We’ll determine the areas to be manipulated during the initial intake interview. A topical lotion is used to assist with the gliding of the tool. It is not painful, but may temporarily change the color of your skin due to the friction from the rubbing and scraping.
